New Orleans Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The fans at Full Moon Stadium witnessed quite a game.
The performance of AJ Boucher proved critical in helping New Orleans beat Outer Banks, 6-4. The Rougarous second baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The winner in relief was Stu Macher. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With New Orleans trailing 4-2, Boucher jumped on a fastball from fireballing 6' 8" left-hander Zach Voss and hit a grand slam home run to right. With one swing, the Rougarous had a walk-off win.
New Orleans manager called it "a good, solid win."
Outer Banks now is 1-8.
