Sea Serpents Deal Rougarous 2-1 Loss
|
Seattle and New Orleans put this game in the books despite some rain.
Seattle Sea Serpents starter Mejiro McQueen turned in an exceptional performance against the New Orleans Rougarous at Full Moon Stadium, resulting in a Seattle win, 2-1. McQueen, the winner, moves to 10-2. He threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up no walks. Talk O'Bell earned the save for Seattle, his 11th.
Kanutake MeHire, who finished 3rd in the Champions in stolen bases with 98 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. MeHire contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Seattle up, 2-1.
Seattle manager commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
At 35-24, the Sea Serpents claim second place in the Champions Conference West.
