The Death Valley Scorpions extended their winning streak.
The Death Valley Scorpions beat the Vancouver Vandals, 9-7, at The Thunderdome. Death Valley shortstop Literal Flamingo, who led the Champions in triples with 8 in 2070, collected 3 singles and 1 double with 4 runs batted in. The Scorpions, now 41-19, have won 6 in a row.
With Death Valley trailing 4-3 in the top of the third, Flamingo hit a 2-run single off Vancouver hurler Thor Lore. It was the 66th hit of the season for Flamingo and put his team ahead, 5-4.
"Hitting is contagious. And when you have a lineup that's going to throw out competitive at-bats one through nine, it makes you want to join in," said Flamingo.
