Space Rangers Lose Again, 6-4, to Pathfinders
|
Lunar Base first baseman Link Althouse had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-4, to Toronto at The Lodge. Althouse went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Rotgut Whiskey got the win, improving to 4-8. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 3. "Fire" Aaron Boone closed the door for Toronto, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
The Pathfinders got a big at-bat from left fielder Beau Mathews. For the game, Mathews was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Toronto a 3-0 lead.
"We're not winning games right now," said Lunar Base manager . "But I'm not going to denigrate the effort by the guys."
The losses continue to add up for Lunar Base, having now dropped 8 straight.
