The Death Valley Scorpions downed the New Orleans Rougarous, 8-5. The hitting star was first baseman Ted Giannoulas. Giannoulas went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs for the Scorpions. Bandit Keith earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. He upped his record to 5-0. Ray Xavier, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 7th save.

In the bottom of the sixth, Yvonne Escence delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Death Valley center fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the Scorpions in front, 8-5.

"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Giannoulas.

The losing streak for New Orleans has now reached 4 games.
