Scorpions Clonk Aviators, 5-1
|
The Death Valley Scorpions racked up a win at The Island, bumping off the Outer Banks Aviators, 5-1. Xavier Pruitt, who started for Death Valley, pitched effectively for his team. The last-place Aviators have lost 7 consecutive games.
Death Valley used the timely hitting of Ted Giannoulas to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Scorpions ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Things will change for us," said Outer Banks manager . "When things change, we'll get clicking."
