Cancun pitcher John Cowgill had a large part in his team beating the Toronto Pathfinders, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Cancun reliever Lizzie WOOOOHOOOO picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jack Dupp absorbed the loss. The Toros, now 7-2, have played some good baseball in the early going.

The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Mengie Brolina came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Toronto pitcher Jack Dupp, he hit a first pitch circle change for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Cancun on top, 5-3.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Cowgill.
