Outer Banks Stopped, 7-5, by Indianapolis
|
Behind a solid performance from second baseman Theodor Geisel, the Indianapolis Apex defeated the Outer Banks Aviators, 7-5. Geisel went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Apex. Flop Quads, the winning pitcher, is now 5-9. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 3. Picking up the save was 22-year old left-handed pitcher Oguri Cap.
Geisel had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a first pitch slider from Chudigal Son, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Apex a 5-4 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Geisel.
"Feels good to get the job done," Geisel said after the game.
Indianapolis is now 29-33, Outer Banks 35-27.
