Althouse Cracks 5 Hits
A jubilant Link Althouse joined the postgame press conference at Lunar Base SkyDome to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Indianapolis Apex pitching staff he had just vanquished.

"It may not have looked like it," said the Lunar Base Space Rangers first baseman, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."

That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led to the 11-5 Space Rangers win.

"He made it look easy," said , manager of the Apex. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."

Link Althouse tripled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.

This season, Althouse is batting .232 with 57 hits, 9 home runs, 30 RBIs, 27 walks, .317 OBP and has scored 42 runs. He has played in 65 games.
