The Vancouver Vandals stopped the Buffalo Surge, 8-7, behind an impressive performance from Elwood Hayes. The five-time All-Star made life miserable for Buffalo pitching. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Surge, at 25-25, have lost 4 in a row.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Vancouver trailing 7-6, Ridgeciano Bananenboom hit a cutter from Delly d'Dendecks to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Vandals had a walk-off win.
