The Cancun Toros defeated the Death Valley Scorpions, 7-5, in part because of left fielder Myles Meredith. Meredith was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Toros. Ryan Lee picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 8-3. Picking up the save was Kelly Brandt, his 1st.

With Cancun leading 3-1 in the top of the second, Meredith hit a changeup from Guy Roussy for a 2-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Toros ahead, 5-1.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Meredith, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
