Seattle Stays Hot with 4-1 Win
|
Seattle turned a good effort from starter Ivy de Vries into a win over the New York Voyagers at The Aquadome. The Sea Serpents won the game, 4-1. de Vries got the win, improving to 2-1. He gave up 4 hits and walked 4 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Kip Treadwell.
Seattle took advantage of an error in the bottom of the sixth inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when Bill Slamsquatch hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Sea Serpents in front, 2-1.
"If you chase it, you need to get it," said Seattle skipper .
The Sea Serpents, now 8-2, have stormed out of the gates.
