Apex Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Pathfinders
|
The Indianapolis Apex trumped the Toronto Pathfinders, 7-3, at The Brickyard. Indianapolis third baseman Harry Callahan was terrific. He went 2-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI. Professor Farnsworth, the winning pitcher, improved to 6-4. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Indianapolis is now 26-26, Toronto 20-32.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fifth when Callahan hit a 2-run single. It propelled the Apex into the lead, 4-2.
"Winning never gets dull," said Callahan.
