The Death Valley Scorpions wiggled past the Vancouver Vandals, 1-0, at The Scudder Forty-Three Stadium. The win was highlighted by the performance of Death Valley pitcher Ryan Stryker Jr.. Mike Ehrmantraut, now 1-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. The Scorpions go to 21-32 with the win.
Brandbil Ostman came through for Death Valley when he hit a solo home run in the top of the tenth. With the bases empty, he hit a 1-2 changeup to left-center field, staking his team to a 1-0 lead.
In postgame remarks, Ostman simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
