					| Apex Come Up Short at Death Valley, 4-3 |
					| The Death Valley Scorpions and Indianapolis Apex played an entertaining game for Cari Price Memorial Stadium patrons.
Deviver Votto, who is tied for 5th in the Champions in quality starts with 11, had a strong outing for the Death Valley Scorpions against the Indianapolis Apex at Cari Price Memorial Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. Votto, the winner, moves to 7-3. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks. Ray Xavier notched his 14th save in 17 chances.

Had Bass Reeves not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Reeves hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Scorpions.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Death Valley manager . "It's usually not just one thing."

After today's action, Death Valley sits at 44-24, while Indianapolis falls to 34-34.
