Death Valley Scorpions pitcher Deviver Votto was in fine form, leading his team past the Detroit Demons, 2-1. The loss makes Detroit 36-32.

Death Valley first baseman Launch Angle contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a cutter to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 79th hit of the season and put the Scorpions ahead, 2-0.

Angle told a Death Valley Gazette reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
