The Indianapolis Apex knocked off the Death Valley Scorpions, 2-1, in Champions Conference action at The Brickyard. Indianapolis pitcher and Maastricht, The Netherlands, native Calm Chicken had an outstanding performance. In 7 innings, Chicken surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Chih-Wei Lee got the save, the 7th for him this season.

The Apex got a big at-bat from second baseman Dee Fernandez Jr.. For the game, Fernandez Jr. went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Indianapolis a 2-0 lead.
