The Detroit Demons got a magnificent performance from pitcher Shohei Ohtani, who muffled the Outer Banks offense en route to a tight 3-1 Demons win at The Island. The Demons, now 8-2, have stormed out of the gates.
Having an impact for Detroit was Biff Slamous. In the top of the sixth inning, the 21-year old designated hitter had a run-scoring single to make the score 2-0, Demons.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Ohtani.
