Apex Win, 4-0, Versus Stars
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the Indianapolis Apex and Nashville Stars were able to complete their ballgame.
Maurice Bernard, who finished 2nd in the Champions in strikeouts with 201 last year, was locked in. The left-hander led the Indianapolis Apex to a 4-0 win against the Nashville Stars at The Brickyard. With the win, the Apex have a record of 45-25.
Kerry Keli hit a 2-run home run off Calvin Ball in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Apex ahead, 2-0. In addition to the homer, Keli had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
"What's not to like about a win?" said Bernard.
