Sloths Turn Back Vandals, 5-3
|
San Antonio beat Vancouver on the strength of starting pitcher Leonidas Longpipe's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Longpipe, now 10-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. Getting the save was Cybernetically Enhanced RoboDibble, his 10th.
San Antonio relied on the hitting of Malcolm Kell to pick up the win. The shortstop ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Sloths on top, 4-0. For the game, Kell had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
San Antonio manager commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
With the win, San Antonio upped its record to 37-33.
