Misteur Helps Death Valley Cruise to 12-3 Win
|
The Death Valley Scorpions downed the New Orleans Rougarous, 12-3, at Cari Price Memorial Stadium. The Scorpions were led by Melo Misteur. Misteur went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 5. John Wittman was the winner. Over 5.2 innings, he yielded 3 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. Picking up the save was Yeet Aball, his 1st.
With Death Valley leading 8-3 in the bottom of the eighth, Misteur came up to bat against New Orleans pitcher Tim Westbrook. Misteur hit a sinker to right-center for a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season put the Scorpions on top, 11-3.
Death Valley manager commended his team for "putting the hammer down."
