The San Antonio Sloths faced a tough opponent in Toronto pitcher Jihmih Beniko, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Lodge by a final score of 5-3. Beniko went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Redd Rockman earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He upped his record to 3-1. Nathan Abel got the save, the 10th for him this season.
In the top of the ninth, San Antonio third baseman Don Marcus hit a run-scoring single to right field. The clutch hit made it, 4-3, Sloths.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Marcus told the San Antonio Gazette.
San Antonio, at 33-25, is 2 games up in the Legends Conference West.
