Hepcats Roll Past Lemurs, 8-2
|
Kansas City starter Christian Summers pitched well against the Louisville Lemurs at Colby Koffman Championship Field at The Jungle. The left-hander led his team to a win, 8-2. Summers, the winner, moves to 4-4. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. With the victory, the Hepcats upped their record to 25-18.
Kansas City right fielder Gandalf the Grey contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a sinker to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 4th hit of the season and put the Hepcats ahead, 6-0.
"I'm happy we won," said Summers. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
