Fans watched the California Firehawks and the Kansas City Hepcats fight to the finish.

Thanks in large part to right fielder Coleman Carver, the California Firehawks beat the Kansas City Hepcats, 5-4. Carver went 2 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Cheii Armbanduhr closed the game out for California, earning his 5th save.

With California leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Carver hit a run-scoring single off Kansas City hurler FireBob Nutting. It was the 32nd hit of the season for Carver and put his team ahead, 3-1.

"We were the better team," crowed Carver.

California raised its record to 23-20 with the win.
