Swift Steeds Slap 5-3 Loss on Ranas
|
The State College Swift Steeds withstood an impressive performance by Puerto Rico shortstop Scoops Cunningham to defeat the Ranas, 5-3, at Kay Faraday Memorial Stadium. Cunningham was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Twain Teetoo earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 3-2. The losing streak for Puerto Rico has now reached 4 games.
Ethan Shadow, who is tied for 10th in the MiLPBE in triples with 1, helped out the State College cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder went 1-2 with 2 walks.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said State College manager . "It's usually not just one thing."
