Armadillos Handle State College, Snag 6-2 Win
|
The Amarillo Armadillos trumped the State College Swift Steeds , 6-2, at Taylor Swift is Hard Mid Eras Tour 2.0. Amarillo catcher Ben Martin was terrific. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Blake Faux III earned the win for Amarillo. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 4-6. IKEA BLÅHAJ [BOT] finished the game for Amarillo and earned his 2nd save.
Amarillo took a 3-2 lead on Kevin McMan's 5th home run of the season. The solo home run, which McMan hit in the top of the seventh, left State College pitcher Kris Rice visibly frustrated.
Martin called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
The victory puts Amarillo at 17-27.
