Scorpions Get Hard-Earned Win
The Death Valley Scorpions topped the Indianapolis Apex, 6-5, at The Brickyard. Death Valley first baseman Ted Giannoulas was a spark plug for the offense. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Ray Xavier earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 2.2 innings. His record is now 2-0. Indianapolis, with the loss, is still a robust 9-2.

Melo Misteur helped out the Death Valley cause in the top of the eighth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the center fielder drew 1 walk.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Giannoulas.
