Valek IV Dominant in California Win
California Firehawks starter John Valek IV had all his pitches working at Kenny Payne Appreciation Stadium. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-1 California win over the Louisville Lemurs. The Firehawks move to 28-16 with the win, while the Lemurs drop to 29-15.

Valek IV was effective for California, seldom allowing the Lemurs to square up a pitch. The left-hander tossed 95 pitches over 8.1 innings. He limited Louisville to just 1 run on 3 hits.

"I thought we played a nice game," Valek IV told the California Bulletin. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
