Kingpins Skid Hits 8 Games
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Anchorage Wheelers and the Chicago Kingpins. Anchorage won it, 3-1. Anchorage starter Warren Peace was in command. Kip Treadwell recorded his 8th save for Anchorage. The Wheelers, now 22-23, have won 4 in a row.
In the top of the fourth, Anchorage first baseman Stetson Laramie had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and two out, Laramie stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 1-0, Anchorage. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Anchorage manager .
