Hepcats Lose to Firehawks in Walk Off
|
The Kansas City Hepcats got a superb performance from pitcher Taylor Adkins, but the California Firehawks still won the game, 5-2. Adkins threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The last-place Hepcats have lost 5 consecutive games.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with California trailing 2-1, Gus Beavers hit a fastball from Skinster Mckinley for a grand slam home run, giving the Firehawks the walk-off win.
"This place was rocking at the end," Beavers said.
