Anchorage Topples Chicago, 3-2
|
Anchorage pitcher Elijah Rosado did his part in helping his team defeat the Chicago Kingpins, 3-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Rosado yielded 2 runs over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 5-5. The save was credited to Wham A Geddon, his 5th.
The Kingpins had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Wheelers going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old catcher D.B. Barnum came to the plate. Barnum hit a solo home run on a 2-0 splitter from Chicago hurler Marcus DaWorm. It was Barnum's 8th home run of the year.
Rosado attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
Anchorage occupies 4th place in the West Division at 20-26.
