The Anchorage Wheelers overcame a fine performance by State College center fielder Akshay Hrishikesh to defeat the Swift Steeds , 7-6, at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo. Hrishikesh went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The win lifted the Anchorage record to 25-21.
Had Pass not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Pass hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Wheelers.
"We'll savor this win," Pass told the Anchorage News, "then get ready for the next game."
