Hepcats Outmuscle Anchorage, 15-8
|
Les Skoden was a vital contributor to the 15-8 Kansas City victory over Anchorage. The Hepcats shortstop was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Kansas City bumps their record to 19-27 with the win.
The Wheelers had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Hepcats going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old designated hitter Cason Warwick came to the plate. Warwick hit a grand slam home run on a 2-2 circle change from Anchorage hurler Oilohnroc Yttef. It was Warwick's 6th home run of the year.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Warwick told the Kansas City Observer.
