Puerto Rico parlayed a decent outing from starter Ribbit Ribbit [BOT] into a solid win over the Anchorage Wheelers. The final score was 4-3. Puerto Rico reliever Jerry Berry [BOT] got the win, raising his record to 2-2. Harlem Moncrief was tagged with the loss. The last-place Ranas own a record of 5-42.
Up to bat in the bottom of the 11th, 31-year old designated hitter Daddy Blaney [BOT] had a chance to be the hero. Anchorage pitcher Harlem Moncrief wanted to foil that plan. But with no outs, Blaney [BOT] hit a sacrifice fly. The Ranas had themselves a thrilling win.
"It was a real good effort by Ribbit," said Puerto Rico manager . "I loved the way he bore down."
