Florida center fielder Ozzy Batty was sensational. He went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. California beat the Flamingos, 5-4. The win gives California a season record of 26-22.

Rusty Menard went 1-3 for California. The 19-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jimmy Key-Largo [BOT]. It was his 21st RBI of the season.

"Feels good to get the job done," Menard said after the game.
