Louisville Dealt 5-1 Defeat
|
The Kansas City Hepcats finished off the Louisville Lemurs, 5-1. Much of the credit belonged to third baseman Gibson Doubleneck. Doubleneck was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Hepcats. Kansas City starter A Bird was credited with the win after throwing 75 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 8-0. William Nilliam closed out the game, earning his 3rd save.
Doubleneck had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from Sofia Mondragón, he banged a 2-run home run to center, giving the Hepcats a 2-0 lead. It was the 11th home run of the year for Doubleneck.
Doubleneck called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
