Kingpins Top Firehawks, 3-1

The Jose Forty-Three Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the California Firehawks and Chicago Kingpins.
The California Firehawks got a superb performance from pitcher Chuck Nasty. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Chicago. The Kingpins won the game, 3-1. Nasty threw 5.2 innings allowing 3 runs. Bauer Bottom came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 5-0. Beeg Yosh recorded the save for Chicago, his 1st of the season.
The Firehawks had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Kingpins going into the bottom of the second inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old designated hitter Big Cheech came to the plate. Cheech hit a 2-run home run on a 0-1 fastball from California hurler Chuck Nasty. It was Cheech's 10th home run of the year.
"We'll savor this win," Cheech told the Chicago News, "then get ready for the next game."
Chicago has now won 3 straight, while the Firehawks have lost 3 in a row.
