Swift Steeds Win with Late Heroics
|
Though he had a terrific game, Rex Jordan could not prevent his team, the Anchorage Wheelers, from absorbing a loss. State College won the game, 6-5. Jordan went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. State College is now 25-24. Anchorage is 26-23.
The Swift Steeds got a clutch hit from designated hitter Brian Taylor. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Swift Steeds .
In postgame remarks, Taylor said: "I'm proud of our guys, of their fight."
