Firehawks Deal Kingpins 4-2 Defeat
|
The California Firehawks faced a tough opponent in Chicago pitcher Tom Wiggins, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Jose Forty-Three Stadium by a final score of 4-2. Wiggins went 6 innings and allowed no runs. LeSean Maximus Marbondalenny Pitchlord earned the win for California. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 7-2. The save went to Sandman Summers, his 8th this season.
California used the timely hitting of OneDog PowerBatLittleBark to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Firehawks on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said PowerBatLittleBark.
California raised its record to 31-19 with the win.
