Flamingos Turn Away Firehawks, 4-2
|
The Florida Flamingos topped the California Firehawks, 4-2, in Minor League PBE action at Florida Man Park. The standout performance belonged to Florida pitcher and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, native Stu Macher. Barry Balls closed the game out for Florida, earning his 2nd save. The Flamingos go to 26-25, putting them second in the East Division.
The Flamingos got a big at-bat from second baseman Samir Noff. For the game, Noff was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Florida a 3-1 lead.
California manager said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
