Flamingos Need Extra Frames to Get Past Lemurs
|
In a high-scoring contest between Florida and Louisville, first baseman Luca was a difference-maker. Luca, who is tied for 5th in the MiLPBE in total bases with 108, distinguished himself in the 11-10 Florida win. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 4 and driving in 4. Florida reliever Lilyin Blue picked up the win to move to 4-5. John Waffle suffered the loss. The Flamingos have an impressive 32-20 record.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the tenth. With Florida trailing 10-9, Luca jumped on a screwball from 20-year old left-handed pitcher John Waffle and hit a 2-run home run to right. With one swing, the Flamingos had a walk-off win.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Louisville manager . "The effort was great."
