Hepcats Top Kingpins in 12
|
Chicago got a terrific performance from pitcher Osaki Rinji, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kansas City Hepcats. Kansas City won the The Jose Forty-Three Stadium contest, 4-2. Rinji threw 7.2 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Kansas City reliever Randy Colón picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Skooma Skooma-kun was saddled with the loss. Definitelynot Kevinchoate got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
Kansas City needed the clutch hitting of Les Skoden to notch the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Hepcats on top, 4-2. For the game, Skoden had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Enjoyed this one," Skoden told the Kansas City Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The last-place Kingpins have lost 5 straight games.
