Kryptonite Slugs Firehawks to 5-1 Win
|
The Amarillo Armadillos and California Firehawks were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The performance of Dirks Kryptonite proved critical in helping California beat Amarillo, 5-1. The Firehawks shortstop went 4-5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Girk Bigglet earned the save for California, his 1st of the year.
Gus Beavers, the 22-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Beavers contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put California up, 2-0.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Kryptonite, "and go after the next one."
California is now 25-27, while Amarillo is 25-27.
