Swift Steeds Win Nail-Biter
|
The Jose Forty-Three Stadium was the site of an exciting ballgame between the State College Swift Steeds and Chicago Kingpins.
The Chicago Kingpins could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Avery Time into a win. Instead, the State College Swift Steeds prevailed, 4-3. Time threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The save went to Sam Watters, number 1 for him.
State College needed the clutch hitting of Michael Honcho to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Swift Steeds on top, 4-3. For the game, Honcho had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Chicago manager .
The third-place Swift Steeds go to 31-23.
