Anchorage Wheelers pitcher Ivy Nurple was in fine form, leading his team past the State College Swift Steeds , 6-1. Nurple got the win, improving to 6-5. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Cassie Macallen earned the save for Anchorage.
Anchorage won the game in part because of Bo Killgore. The third baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Wheelers ahead, 2-0. For the game, Killgore had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Anchorage manager .
Anchorage now sports a record of 23-31.
