The Chicago Kingpins reigned over the State College Swift Steeds in damp conditions.
The timely hitting of Dave Honkbal helped the Chicago Kingpins down the State College Swift Steeds , 5-2. Honkbal was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Kingpins. The winning pitcher was Jay Blanco. He's now 2-4. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits for the Kingpins.
The Kingpins got an important contribution from center fielder Bob Honkbal, who in the bottom of the third knocked a 2-1 fastball into center for a 2-run double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Kingpins ahead, 4-1.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Honkbal told the Chicago Observer.
The second-place Kingpins improved to 31-23.
