The Anchorage Wheelers had to overcome a fine effort from California pitcher Nick Gilmore to grab a narrow 3-2 win at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons. Gilmore went 7.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Anchorage reliever Cam Maddux picked up the win, upping his record to 5-4. J.Y. Park absorbed the loss. The win gives Anchorage a season record of 30-25.

Anchorage used the clutch hitting of Dan Bacle to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Wheelers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"Tough loss," said California manager . "But we'll learn from it."
