The Amarillo Armadillos got a stellar effort from pitcher Marsh Mellow Jr., helping Amarillo score a win over the visiting Kansas City Hepcats, 4-2. Getting the save was Rene-Antoine LePouvoirs, his 3rd. With the win over Kansas City, the Armadillos improved to 25-32.

The Armadillos got a big at-bat from left fielder Ben Martin. For the game, Martin went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Amarillo a 4-2 lead.

Martin called the win "a collective effort."
