Wheelers Win at Kansas City, 5-3
|
The Anchorage Wheelers dealt the Kansas City Hepcats a 5-3 loss at The Evil Dictator x Jose Forty-Three Best Friendship Ballpark. Myles Meredith, who is tied for 5th in the MiLPBE in triples with 2, was the star on offense. He went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Wheelers bumped their record to 32-25 with this latest triumph.
Bavier Jaez had a big 2-run double for the Wheelers in the top of the sixth inning. With Anchorage leading 3-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a cutter from fireballing left-hander Nicaragua del Toro and swatted a double to right. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Wheelers ahead, 5-0.
"We ground out the win," said Meredith. "That's all that matters."
