Armadillos Improve to 30-28 with 8-3 Win
|
Amarillo parlayed a decent outing from starter VJ Edgecombe into a solid win over the Brew City Bears. The final score was 8-3. Edgecombe, who is tied for 8th in the MiLPBE in strikeouts with 59, went the distance for Amarillo. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. The win for the Armadillos lifted their record to 30-28.
Eric Hustle drove in one run for Amarillo. The 21-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Onni Eskola. It was his 16th RBI of the season.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Edgecombe.
