Brew City turned a fine outing from starter Joseph Kelley into a victory over the Anchorage Wheelers at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House. The final score was 3-2. "Fire" Aaron Boone, now 3-2, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Brew City goes to 35-23. The win puts them 3½ games up in their division.
The Bears were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 22-year old right fielder Jared Keeso landed a big blow. He turned a 1-2 screwball from Andre Pope into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House denizens into a frenzy and sent the Bears home with a thrilling 3-2 win.
"This was a gut-wrenching loss," said Anchorage manager , "the kind that'll give you an ulcer."
