Apex Suffer 6-5 Road Loss
|
Death Valley first baseman Launch Angle contributed significantly to his team's 6-5 win over the Indianapolis Apex. Angle, who led the Champions in slugging percentage with .596 in 2076, went 2 for 4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Scorpions. Greg Buse claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4 innings. His record stands at 1-2. The Scorpions have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 3rd win in 12 games.
Angle contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Death Valley in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 5-3, Angle took a sinker from Chih-Wei Lee and stroked the home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Scorpions to leap in front, 6-5.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Angle.
