The Death Valley Scorpions defeated the Indianapolis Apex, 11-9. Designated Hitter Launch Angle deserved a large share of the credit. Angle was 4 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Scorpions. Death Valley reliever Ray Xavier picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Takeda Takahashi took the loss. The Scorpions, now 8-4, have played some good baseball in the early going.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Death Valley. That's when Xicoyotl Montalbán hit a 2-run home run off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Takeda Takahashi to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"This game had a little bit of everything," said Angle.
