The Brew City Bears weathered a fine game by Anchorage third baseman Robert Oliver to upend the Wheelers, 8-6, at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo. Oliver was 1-4 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Max Lovehammer converted his 8th save in 11 tries. The Bears, at 40-21, have now won 6 straight.

Brew City used the bat of Julio Ruiz Jr. to capture the win. The third baseman jacked a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Bears ahead, 7-5. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a dandy.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Ruiz Jr. told the Brew City Times.
